About Soft Chocolates ®

Soft Chocolates® are clothes that melt around you, feel sensuous, and are characterized by lines that accentuate the dynamic curves of the female form. Inspired by Argentine tango, seams flow and entwine. Fabrics rise and fall with your movement, extending your natural body lines. Asymmetry and intrigue are incorporated as well as stunning back focal points.

OUR HISTORY

Betsy was making all her clothes by the fifth grade, was a high school art teacher before practicing clothing design. She completed a Ph.D. in Design and Aesthetics, taught design, product development and production at major universities. She has been in involved in fit and production in small businesses as well corporate environments, nationally and internationally. She combines her love of dance, and since 2003, the Argentine tango.

OUR BUSINESS MODEL

Fabrics are purchased in small quantities so there is intentional limited availability. Garments are not massed produced so we don’t carry inventory. Instead, each garment is personally cut and sewn by Betsy as orders arrive, and shipped within 7-14 business days.

The Soft Chocolates® look starts with well-designed pieces you personalize to suit your individual expression. Layer a skirt over pants, or several sheer skirts for a surprising hemline. Some skirts do not have specific fronts, backs, or sides so the asymmetrical hemlines can be worn to your preference. Closures or seams do not determine how you wear your skirts, since you are viewed from all possible angles while dancing with equal appreciation.

POINTS OF QUALITY

​Our customers often express delight about the surprising quality of our garments. Quality fabric selection, extra pattern details, and attention to construction detail contribute.
  • Our silk skirts are cut on the bias for a soft, flattering fit. Although bias cuts require more fabric, no other fabric drapes and flows so beautifully on the dance floor.
  • When appropriate, fabrics are pre-shrunk before cutting to allow you to conveniently machine wash and dry.
  • Each style is wear-tested for temperature comfort, and dance functionality.
  • We stand behind each garment. If not totally satisfied, returns and exchanges are accepted.
  • The quality and design of our garments are not intended just for dance; we want customer pride wherever you go.
